Missouri Bed and Breakfast Inns hold Fall Conference

The Beds and Breakfast Inns of Missouri held their fall conference at Hermann on Wednesday, November 18, 2015.  Innkeepers from B&Bs across Missouri met at Hermann Hill’s Pavillion for business, education, and networking.

Bridgette Kelch from DeBourge House, made an excellent presentation on using Social Media for BBIM and your Bed and Breakfast--a must have for our industry.

Mitch Pies from Pies Insurance (BBIM vendor member) presented information on booking giant, AirBNB and led a discussion on the pluses and minuses of AirBNB and effects of all Short Term Rentals in our world.

Stacy Kistler from Napoleon’s Retreat, spoke on last year’s legislation that came about due to a change in taxing small St. Louis B&Bs as commercial properties and effects on BnBs statewide and what actions BBIM members can take to support new legislation and efforts to protect and prosper our small professional lodging businesses in the new year.

Nancy from Southmoreland on the Plaza, spoke on the new chip card processors and requirements for those that accept credit cards.

Gift Card Administrator-- Bridgette Kelch (DeBourge House)
Legislative Chair-- Stacy Kistler (Napoleon’s Retreat)
Social Media Coordinator-- Bridgette Kelch (DeBourge House)

Thank yous were expressed to Terry Hammer and staff of Hermann Hill Inn that in true BnB style, provided delicious snacks, drinks, breakfast and lunch at their beautiful wedding/conference center.
